Flowbonacci is a company created and run by Fabio (see Bio below).
It offers top of the line handcrafted products. The goal is simple : to make the best quality and most efficient Dragon Staff ever.
Flowbonacci will empower your flow.
It will enable you to express yourself and your art in the most enjoyable and harmonious way. Dragon Staff being a very young prop, the growing community needs high quality, perfectly designed and sturdy staves. Spinners also need to come together and share new ideas. This is how the Flowbonacci Project was born : to help the Dragon community to grow in numbers, quality and creativity. The more we share the more we’ll all improve. Together we will push Dragon Staff to its full potential.

THE BIRTH OF THE ORIGINAL SPIRAL HEAD

In 2017, I was searching for a high-quality practice Dragon Staff—something well balanced, with the right rotational inertia, and visually satisfying. Nothing on the market met my expectations. Out of frustration, and relying on my engineer background, I decided to design my own prototype.

The result was the Original Spiral Heads: perfectly balanced, with a unique shape that creates a mesmerizing optical effect when spinning. For months I traveled, performed, and taught workshops, always carrying my new Dragon Staff design. Spinners who tried it were genuinely impressed by the feeling and confirmed the design worked. Many of them encouraged me to make it available, asking how they could get one for themselves.

That encouragement convinced me to start producing the heads and sharing them with the community. The spiral form was inspired by the mathematician Leonardo Fibonacci and his famous sequence, which generates the natural spiral found throughout art and nature. Above all, it creates an incredibly hypnotic effect in motion.

This is how Flowbonacci was born.

THE « GYRO STAFF » CONCEPT After years of practice and reflection, I realized how important rotational inertia is for Dragon Staff practice. It’s the same gyroscopic effect that keeps a spinning top standing upright—rotation creates stability. Applying this principle became a central focus in my Dragon Staff designing process at Flowbonacci. This led me to design the Tri-Ying disc heads, inspired by the Yin-Yang symbol. Their shape amplifies the gyroscopic effect and gives the staff a smooth, floating feeling when spun. Later came the Vortex design, following the same idea. With slightly more weight, it reproduces the behavior of a fire Dragon Staff while also creating a striking optical illusion in motion.

THE FLOWBONACCI DEDICATION

All Flowbonacci products are manufactured in Spain. The plastic parts are made from recycled materials sourced and processed locally, making the whole line both sustainable and responsibly crafted.

I keep working to make Flowbonacci staves evolve constantly—always improving their balance, durability, and feel. Every step forward is guided by the feedback of Dragon Staff spinners.

For me, a Flowbonacci is not just a prop, but a true Flow Arts instrument—like a violin crafted for the musician who will bring it to life. That is the spirit of Flowbonacci: dedication to quality, creativity, and the growth of Dragon Staff practice.

When you choose a Flowbonacci, you don’t just buy a prop—you become part of shaping the future of Dragon Staff practice.

BIO

It all started when I was 15 and discovered Diabolo. That encounter was a revelation—a strong and lasting connection that fueled my youth with creativity, inventiveness, and a constant drive to surpass myself. I practiced intensively and discovered the boundless possibilities of juggling. Alongside it, I also enjoyed skateboarding, martial arts, and long-distance running, which kept me active and gave me a healthy, dynamic lifestyle—but juggling always remained at the center.

After completing a degree in engineering in France in 2001, I moved to the South Pacific island of Tahiti, where I lived for almost 15 years. In 2013 I got my first Dragon Staff and immediately felt a deep attraction to it; I began practicing every day, inspired by Brettstar Galactica, Mickey Khoury, and Jed Fowler. In 2014 I joined Te Tama Ahi, a Tahitian fire dance company, performing regularly in hotels, festivals, and cultural events across Polynesia, which strengthened my connection with stage performance and entertainment. At the same time I sought flow in water sports—surfing, free diving, and sailing—and in my professional life I spent the last eight years in Tahiti working as Chief Engineer of the main hospital.

In 2016 I moved back to Europe and dedicated my professional life entirely to Dragon Staff. In 2017 I started what was meant to be a single prototype; it gradually evolved into a full line of Dragon Staffs and ultimately became Flowbonacci, the company I founded and continue to run today. During this same period I was also becoming recognized as a notable Dragon Staff performer, invited to teach at juggling conventions, flow festivals, and retreats worldwide. This artistic chapter filled me with gratitude—it was an inspiring parenthesis in my life, bringing recognition and heartfelt encouragement from audiences and fellow spinners.

Today, Flowbonacci is at the core of my life. I continue to explore and create original Dragon Staff moves, enjoying the flow in my personal practice—now with less pressure and a little farther from the constant cycle of stages and festivals. My main focus is dedicating my energy to Flowbonacci: offering premium, innovative, and carefully designed Dragon Staff equipment to the flow community, helping the practice evolve and serving the people who spin.
